Owen worked as a copywriter for some of London’s premier ad agencies including Y&R, Saatchi & Saatchi, Slaymaker, Cowley, White creating and writing campaigns for blue chip accounts including Heinz, Cadbury and Sealink.

He went on to win a clutch of press and poster campaign awards and was responsible for the launch of the British Gas floatation -– at £20m the largest ever UK ad spend.
In 1992 Owen moved to Ecuador – bit of a left turn there – where he bought one hotel and built a second, learned to bake bread and co-founded the Ecuadorian Film Commission.
In 2002 Owen returned to the UK by banana boat a trip that gave him plenty of time to think about what he wanted to do next – one of which was never eat bananas.
Owen joined QuantumSteps as a consultant where he designed and delivered creative workshops for GSK’s European Marketing and Futures teams. A series of NPD and brand workshops followed. Clients included Ribena, Ecco, Nytol and Coca Cola.
Founded Brand Orienteering in 2009 bringing together 25 years of experience building brands. Using a combination of facilitated events, brand maps and practical tools Owen enables companies to develop their own brand strategy and achieve their true potential.
His most recent work includes, developing internal brand communications tools for Hall & Partners network of global agencies, brand workshops for Knorr and Nestle.
